Welcome to Water Empire — a Roblox simulation tycoon where you extract underground water, store it in tanks, and sell it when market prices are high. This guide covers everything from your first spawn to a fully functioning income loop, with a minute-by-minute walkthrough for your first half hour.
Getting Started
- Join the game on Roblox — it's free on PC, mobile, tablet, and Xbox.
- You'll spawn at your personal base with a basic setup and a small amount of starting cash.
- Your first goal is to place a pump and start extracting water.
- Like and favorite the game on Roblox — this supports Get Win and may unlock future code drops.
- Progress saves automatically. You can leave and return anytime without losing upgrades.
Step 1: Place Your First Pump
Pumps are the heart of your operation. They draw water from underground sources automatically once placed — no clicking or manual labor required.
- Open the build/shop menu from the UI (see Controls guide).
- Select a pump from the available options.
- Click or tap a valid placement spot near your base's extraction zone.
- Confirm the purchase — the pump starts extracting immediately.
- Water flows passively into your connected storage system.
Your first pump will be slow — that's normal. Focus on getting the storage and selling loop working before worrying about speed.
Step 2: Upgrade Storage Tanks
Storage tanks determine how much water you can hold before you must sell. This is the most critical early-game upgrade because holding water lets you wait for better market prices.
- Upgrade your storage tank at least once before buying a second pump.
- Larger tanks = more flexibility to wait for market spikes.
- Small capacity forces you to sell at bad prices when tanks overflow.
- Balance pump speed with storage size — if tanks fill in under 3 minutes, upgrade storage next.
💡 Beginner Mistake #1: Buying a second pump before upgrading storage. Two pumps filling a tiny tank = constant overflow = forced bad sells. Always upgrade storage first. Details: Pumps & Storage guide.
Step 3: Monitor the Market & Sell
Water Empire features a dynamic market trend system. Water prices fluctuate over time — sometimes low, sometimes high. This is the game's core strategic element.
- Find the market trend indicator on your HUD (usually near the sell button).
- When the trend is high or rising — sell your stored water for maximum profit.
- When the trend is low or falling — keep pumping and filling tanks. Do not sell.
- Your first few sells can happen at moderate trends — that's fine while learning.
Read the full Market Trends guide once you've completed your first sell cycle.
Step 4: Reinvest & Expand
Every dollar you earn should go back into your operation. Cash sitting idle earns nothing.
- Storage upgrade — if tanks are filling too fast (priority #1).
- Second pump — only after storage can handle 2× production.
- Pump tier upgrade — faster extraction on existing pumps.
- Technology unlock — new features when available in the shop.
- Base expansion — when you've maxed current placement slots.
Your First 30 Minutes — Minute by Minute
Minutes 0–3: Setup
Spawn → open build menu → place first pump → watch water start flowing into storage.
Minutes 3–8: First Storage Upgrade
Wait for enough cash from passive extraction (or make a moderate-trend sell) → upgrade storage tank once.
Minutes 8–12: Learn Market UI
Watch the trend indicator for a full cycle. Notice prices rise and fall. Don't sell during the first low trend if you have tank space.
Minutes 12–18: First Smart Sell
Wait for a high trend → sell entire stored volume → immediately reinvest into second storage upgrade or pump #2.
Minutes 18–25: Scale Production
Add pump #2 if storage allows → continue the fill-wait-sell-reinvest loop → aim for 3–5 minute cycles.
Minutes 25–30: First Technology
Unlock your first technology upgrade if affordable → check Upgrade Priority for what to pick.
Understanding the UI
Key elements on your screen during gameplay:
| Cash Display | Your current money. Increases when you sell water. |
|---|---|
| Storage Meter | How full your tanks are (0–100%). Watch this constantly. |
| Market Trend | Current price direction — high, low, or stable. Check before every sell. |
| Build Menu | Buy and place pumps, upgrades, tech, and expansions. |
| Sell Button | Converts stored water to cash at current market price. |

- Watch experienced players' pump layouts for inspiration.
- Progress saves automatically between sessions — safe to leave anytime.
- The game runs smoothly on mobile with 8 players — no lag concerns.
5 Beginner Mistakes to Avoid
| Mistake | Why It Hurts | Do Instead |
|---|---|---|
| Selling when tank is full | Often sells at low trend | Upgrade storage; wait for high trend |
| Multiple pumps, default storage | Constant overflow | Upgrade storage after each pump add |
| Ignoring market UI | Random income, 30%+ loss | Check trend before every sell |
| Saving cash without upgrading | Zero growth on idle money | Reinvest 100% after peak sells |
| Expanding base too early | Big cost, no income boost | Max current base first |
